North Dakota Roadtrip!

North Dakota

July 28- August 2, 2021

There is nothing like a road trip to excite your photographic sensibilities and invigorate your vision. North Dakota is the perfect place for a photographic road trip–wide open spaces, friendly people, beautiful sunsets, and incredible wildlife!

From the allure of abandoned homesteads to the novelty of a great State Fair to the majestic natural beauty of Theodore Roosevelt National Park this workshop promises to deliver photographic subject-matter in spades!

Instruction

This workshop is primarily a field shoot workshop. In this workshop, we will learn techniques that will give your images pizzazz and impact. We will explore landscape techniques and the use of filters. You will learn how to filter for extreme lighting conditions, including indoor and outdoor locations. We will experiment with light painting and how to get the most from natural light, as well as mixing light for interior locations. We will discuss the best approach for social documentation and shooting events like the State Fair and midways.

Location

We will be on the move throughout North Dakota. Our road trip will begin in Bottineau North Dakota and end in Dickinson North Dakota. Bottineau is about 80 miles NE of Minot ND. If you are planning to fly you will want to fly into Bismark where we can pick you up and at the end of the workshop drop you off.

Bottineau is approximately a 7.5-hour drive from Mpls MN.
