Join me with Christian Dalbec as we explore the shore in this photography workshop. Our goal is to get you to great places, work with you in a fun and creative atmosphere, so you can create masterful photographs. This workshop will be based in Two Harbors, but will explore the North Shore as far as Grand Marais.

The weekend will take in a wonderful diversity of subject matter and locations. Over the course of three days participants will shoot sunrise, sunset, night time, and daylight photo shoots. Subject matter will  include everything  from the rugged north shore of Lake Superior, and spring swollen rivers, streams and waterfalls to the quiet serene of boreal forests.

This workshop is primarily a field workshop, there will be a classroom session at the of the workshop to review images. In this workshop we will learn techniques that will give your images pizzazz and impact. We will explore landscape techniques from  mastering the grand landscape, using filters for creative effects, to  perfecting the intimacy of close up photography. We will learn how to; deal with extreme lighting conditions,  using natural light and much more. Camera technique and subject approach will be the emphasis of this workshop.


This workshop is based out of Two Harbors MN, field locations will range up the North Shore as far as Grand Marais.

Day 1

6:00–Workshop begins at Two Harbors Lighthouse parking lot–Photo shoot on location


10:00–field shoot

12:00–lunch break

1:00–field shoot location to be announced.

Day 2

5:00–field shoot location to be announced


9:00 –Morning field locations to be determined

12:00–lunch break

1:00–Afternoon and evening locations to be determined

Day 3

5:00–Optional sunrise shoot


9:00–ColdSnap Studio Classroom

2:00–Workshop done


Workshop fee is for tuition with a complete set of class notes.
