Day Of The Dead Photo Tour - ColdSnap Photography

Day Of The Dead Photo Tour

Oaxaca, Mexico

October 30 -- November 5, 2022

BW Maria from Day of the Dead

The “Day of the Dead” celebration is steeped in Mexican Culture. Oaxaca, Mexico is the ground zero for this celebration, and it is one of the most beautiful and safest Mexican cities. This makes the Day of the Dead Photo Tour a visual feast and the perfect setting for this photography tour. The two-day celebration honors ancestors, family, culture, and history. Central to the celebration tradition is the creation of colorful altars to commemorate the lives of those who have deceased. In typical Mexican style, the celebrations take place indoors and outside. Join us for a photographic adventure of a lifetime.

In addition to the traditional two-day celebration of the “Day of the Dead”, we will tour local attractions such as the archeological ruins of Yagul and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Monte Alban.  We will spend a day at the local village of Teotitlan del Valle,  renowned for its weaving and rugs. We have several tours arranged with local guides to give us the history and cultural significance of the celebrations and traditions.  There will be time to explore the beautiful city of Oaxaca with its Spanish Colonial architecture, cathedrals, and zocalos or town squares.
