This workshop is a combined field and classroom experience and designed for photographers that are beginners to intermediate in level. Special interest in the following subjects: nature, scenic, candid people, landscape, wildlife, and street photography. The small group size ensures that everyone will have lots of one on one time with the instructor.
Classroom topics are: Camera technique, shutter speed, aperture, depth of field, calculating exposure, how to read a histogram, post processing for print and social media, composition, and approaching your subject in order to capture the moment. Many of these same topics are also covered one on one in the field. Instruction in the field is tailored to the level and desires of the individual.
The most important thing to possess for this workshop is an open mind. Cameras don’t create great photos, photographers do. Having said that you will get the most out of this workshop if you have a camera that offers manual controls for the shutter speed, aperture, and focus. A laptop with photography editing software is a plus but not necessary. A tripod is also useful.
